A good 2007 for the Spanish manufacturers of frits, glazes and colours
2007 was a good year for the Spanish manufacturers of frits, glazes and colours . As of 31 December the sector reported a turnover of 1.097 billion euro, 6.2% up on 2006. The bulk of the increase (+6.5%) was generated by exports, which also account for the majority of our business (641.5 million euro). Italy remains the most important market, although there have also been substantial increases in North Africa and Eastern Europe.
The domestic market underwent 5.9% growth to 455.4 million euro.
The sector has undergone also a partial recovery in its margins thanks to a decrease in raw material and energy costs and an increase in selling price.
