Indian Ceramics 2007: a gateway to the Indian market
The event is held in the Bombay Exhibition Centre and is sponsored by the Indian Council of Ceramic Tiles and Sanitaryware (ICCTAS).
Using the slogan “The gateway to Gujarat”, the show’s organisers intend to draw the attention of professionals to the advantages of reaching the heart of the Indian ceramic market, the Gujarat district where some fifteen new vitrified ceramic producers have been set up in the last year alone.
India’s tile production and consumption are steadily increasing and the country is now the fifth largest producer in the world (300 million sq.m in 2005) and the fifth largest consumer.
Growth is also forecast in the sanitaryware segment, with production now in excess of 100,000 tons per year.
By presenting their product ranges, the numerous ceramic companies taking part as exhibitors will be able to assess the development prospects of modern India.
Acimac (Italian Ceramic Machinery Manufacturers’ Association) and ICE (Italian Trade Commission) are taking part in the show with a joint pavilion of companies showcasing the most innovative production technologies.
The ICE-Acimac area, called “Sistema Italia”, is hosting seven exhibitors: Air Power, Alpina, Euromeccanica, G.P. Service, Simec, SITI-B&T Group and System. Other Italian companies in the sector will be present with their own stands.
