Indian Ceramics 2017 fires up its engines

The 12th Indian Ceramics & Ceramica Asia, the largest Indian exhibition of suppliers to the ceramic tile, sanitaryware and brick industries, will be held from 1 to 3 March at the Gujarat University Exhibition Centre in Ahmedabad (India).

An exceptional showcase of the latest technological innovations, the exhibition has already set a new record for its 11,000 square metres of exhibition space (compared to 9,500 sq.m in 2016) hosting 250 leading companies in the sector. The show is also becoming more international in its scope with growth in numbers of foreign exhibitors, up by 20% with respect to last year’s event.

The results are in line with the strong performance of the Indian market, which remained the third largest tile producer country in 2015 with an output of 850 million sq.m (6.9% of world production), 3% more than in 2014. It is also the third largest tile consumer country with 756 million sq.m and the fourth largest exporter with 122 million sq.m (up 32.6% from 2014).

Considering the importance of the event, numerous Italian companies are taking part again this year, including fifteen hosted in a 400 square metre Italian pavilion organised by Acimac and the Italian Trade Agency ICE. At the Acimac stand visitors can pick up a free copy of the fourth issue of the well-known international magazine Ceramic World Review in Hindi.

The companies taking part in the Acimac pavilion are BMR, Capaccioli, CI.ME.S, Gabbrielli Technology, ICF&welko, LB Officine Meccaniche, Manfredini & Schianchi, Martinelli Group, Setec, Siti B&T Group, Officine Smac, System, Tecnoferrari Group, Tecnofiliere and Tek Mak, while Colorobbia, Lamberti, Sacmi, Sibelco, Smalticeram, Smaltochimica and Tecnografica will be taking part with their own stands.

The offerings of Indian Ceramics & Ceramica Asia will also include an extensive programme of ancillary events such as the Innovation Exchange Forum. Now in its fourth edition, this event will explore the latest trends in the ceramic sector in the company of world-famous speakers who will offer theoretical discussions along with examples of best practices. Another event of interest is the Ceramic Forum International Workshop, which will feature an extensive programme of conferences, including a meeting entitled "Advanced Process Technologies and Raw Material for the Indian Market" on Thursday 2 March. Then on Friday 3 March it will be the turn of the first edition of the I-Bart workshop devoted to the heavy clay industry, where leading industry representatives will discuss "Mechanization of Traditional Indian Clay Brick Industry: challenges and opportunities".
