Italian ceramics on show at Revestir 2014
17 Italian tile and flooring manufacturers will be attending Expo Revestir 2014, the international architecture and construction fair to be held at the Transamerica Expo Center in Sao Paolo (Brazil) from 11-14 March.
10 of Italy's top brands can be found in the Pavilhão Oficial Italiano de Revestimento, organised by ICE and Confindustria Ceramica. The 10 companies: Casalgrande Padana, Caesar, Sant'Agostino, Ornamenta, Edimax, Piemme, Marca Corona, Mipa, Nuovo Corso and Tagina will be joined by 5 manufacturers of decorative stoneware and other covering materials. Also attending the show with independent stands will be Cooperativa Ceramica d'Imola, Gardenia Orchidea, Kale Italia (Kale Group), Italgraniti, Laminam, Mirage and Refin.
Brazil still represents a fairly limited market for the Italian ceramic industry, which currently exports just over 400,000 sqm annually to the South American country. But there are attractive opportunities for Italian-made tiles: Brazil invests up to $270 billion in construction (35% in the residential sector and 40% in public works), and the country's demand for high-end materials is buoyant. However, the particularly high tariff barriers are impeding the more rapid growth of Italian exports to Brazil.
