Kale adopts Kryo tile cooling system from Smac
After being successfully adopted by a number of Italian ceramic companies, the innovative Kryo tile cooling system produced by Fiorano-based company Officine Smac is now gaining in popularity abroad.
Initially installed in Egypt, Germany and Sri Lanka, it has also recently been adopted in Turkey by Kale Group, the country's leading ceramic tile manufacturer and the 11th largest producer worldwide. The system is designed to solve problems relating to the high temperatures of tiles travelling along the digital decoration line and the moisture they release.
In late 2014, Kaleseramik installed and started up 8 Kryo coolers on 8 different production lines, bringing a significant improvement in both quality and output.
Kryo's success in the tile cooling market owes much to its unique technical features. The innovative dual closed cycle cold air recirculation system can attain temperatures down to -25°C, ensuring uniform and defect-free decoration, longer printhead life and elimination of all problems deriving from the release of moisture from tiles entering digital printers.
