Kirovskaya Keramika makes new investments
Kirov, a town in the Kaluga oblast, is home to one of the oldest and most prestigious Russian ceramic companies.
Founded in 1853, Kirovskaya Keramika produces both tiles and sanitaryware and is now one of the most dynamic and modern companies in the country following a radical restructure and technological upgrade process that began in the year 2000 and which saw SITI B&T Group as main technological partner.
“Our output includes both sanitaryware and ceramic floor and wall tiles.” General director Valeriy Mikhalev, who has been leading the company for the last 28 years, told us. “The sanitaryware division produces and sells 2 million pieces a year. In the tile segment output volumes vary between 3.5 and 4 million sq.m/year. Turnover amounts to 3 billion roubles (about US $50 million), of which 70% consists of sales of sanitaryware and the remaining 30% floor and wall tiles.”
