Litokol opens a new factory in India

Litokol has strengthened its presence in India with a new facility in Gujarat, built in partnership with Pidilite Industries.

A company that has been producing adhesives, grouts and special products for the ceramic and building industries for over 50 years, Litokol of Rubiera (Reggio Emilia) opened a new factory in Amod, Gujarat in June. The project is part of the company’s development strategy focused on production investments and international partnerships in new growth markets and was carried out in cooperation with Pidilite Industries, one of India’s largest chemical groups with which Litokol signed a joint venture agreement in 2019.

The inauguration was attended by Litokol’s CEO Fabio Plazzi, Pidilite Industries’ CEO Bharat Puri and the Italian Deputy Consul General in Mumbai Luigi Cascone.

Litokol’s new facility in India has a state-of-the-art production plant that manufactures epoxy, polyurethane and other reactive two-component products for the ceramic and building industries. Production will focus on Starlike® EVO epoxy grout, the most advanced product of its kind on the market protected by several international patents.

In exchange for this transfer of Italian expertise and technology, Pidilite Industries has exclusive responsibility for distribution in the Indian market using its own well-established network and the expanded range of the ROFF brand specialising in ceramic and building products.

The start-up of the Indian site further strengthens Litokol’s position as an international group that exports to 100 countries around the world and comprises eight companies, including production and sales subsidiaries in Russia, Ukraine, Armenia, China, India and Greece.

Concurrently with the inauguration of the Amod plant, Pidilite has also opened two other new production facilities in the tile installation product and natural stone sectors.
