Majorca acquires Ceramica Monica
As part of a corporate consolidation plan initiated in 2007, Majorca Spa has signed an important agreement to acquire the Ceramica Monica and Eurotiles brands.
The agreement will enable Majorca to manufacture Monica and Eurotiles products, which are compatible with its installations, thereby increasing its output and reducing industrial costs. The company will optimise its production capacity, changing from the current two daily shifts to three shifts (continuous cycle) and reaching a total of 2,400,000 sq.m/year when fully operational.
The operation involves an investment of 5 million euro and marks a decisive response to the difficult economic situation.
Majorca spa, which reported revenues of 17 million euro in 2007, will acquire a further 7.5 million euro turnover following the operation, achieving economic growth without additional production or organisational costs.
