Marazzi Group reports 8.7% first quarter growth
EBITDA reached 40.4 million euro, 5% up on the same period in 2006. The net operating result of 10.9 million euro was likewise up by 10.2%.
The European business units confirmed a strong growth trend, with BU Italy up by 12.4% and BU Spain by 11.5%. Following the restructure, the French BU also reported a 6% increase in turnover.
The Russian Business Unit reached a record figure of 45.2% with the contribution of the new factory in Malino.
By contrast the turnover of the US Business Unit fell by 4.5% in USD (by 12.4% in euro) compared to the corresponding record quarter in 2006. In spite of the difficult market conditions, however, the profitability of BU USA has increased, both at equal exchange rates and in absolute value terms.
