Marco Polo installs Lamgea plant from System Ceramics

The new line, complete with Creadigit BS digital printers, will begin operation by October in the new Marco Polo factory in Jiangxi.

The Marco Polo group, one of China’s largest ceramic tile producers and a major player both in Asia and outside the region, has decided to install a Lamgea plant from System Ceramics for the production of 1200x2400 mm and 1600x3200 mm ceramic slabs in thicknesses ranging from 6 to 12 mm. The line will be installed in the group’s new factory in the southern province of Jiangxi and will begin operation by October.

Along with Lamgea, the flagship industrial process developed by System Ceramics consisting of an innovative mouldless press for the production of large slabs and panels, the Chinese group will also install three Creadigit BS digital printers. These single-pass inkjet printers are equipped with electronic processing that enables them to print at high speed and create highly realistic images of all kinds with a graphic surface area of up to 200 square metres, making every slab unique.

This is an extremely valuable order for System Ceramics for two main reasons. Firstly, it strengthens the longstanding partnership with the Marco Polo group and demonstrates the importance of cutting-edge technologies capable of guaranteeing unique advantages and high levels of performance within the production process. Secondly, it confirms the Italian company as a technological partner of excellence for the Asian market, where System China, the subsidiary set up in 2000 in Suzhou, provides an efficient customer service through the local presence of qualified technicians.

The Marco Polo group, led by Chairman Mr. Huang, is headquartered in the city of Dong Guang and has several factories in China with a total annual production of over 200 million square metres. In 2016 it established a presence in the United States with American Wonder Porcelain based in Lebanon, Tennessee. System Ceramics supplied digital decoration, storage, AGV handling and packaging solutions for the production plant which came into operation up in 2017.
