Mauro Vandini returns to Marazzi as managing director
After working alongside the Marazzi family for almost thirty years up until 2009, Mauro Vandini is now returning to the group in the position of managing director. He takes over from Andrea Sasso, whom the company wishes to thank for his work during the last year in overseeing the successful acquisition by Mohawk Industries and in enabling the company to achieve its goals.
"The acquisition has ushered in an important new phase for Marazzi," noted Mauro Vandini. "It enables us to speed up our growth process, supported not only by our new group dimensions but also by our leadership position in terms of style, capacity for innovation and brand positioning. The acquisition also demonstrates the key role of Italian ceramic tiles and the level of excellence achieved by Marazzi all over the world," he added.
"I am leaving Marazzi with a strong sense of satisfaction with the results we have achieved," commented Andrea Sasso. "It has not been easy for a group with such a strong history and local roots as Marazzi to come unscathed through this difficult period that has seen it lose its charismatic chairman, Filippo Marazzi, and undergo a change in ownership structure."
