MCP acquires Elios Ceramiche
Elios Ceramiche (Fiorano Modenese) has new owners. According to banking sources, the Levoni family sold their historic ceramic company, established in 1968, to Italian fund MCP II (Mandarin Capital Partners) in early July, making it the latest acquisition in an operation intended to create a top of the range Made in Italy ceramic group.
This new acquisition - conducted by Italcer, MCP's subsidiary holding company, directed by Graziano Verdi - follows that of La Fabbrica (Castel Bolognese) in March, which brought the Group a 2016 turnover of 41.9 million euro and eighty employees.
Elios and La Fabbrica may soon be joined by Tagina (for which, again according to the banks, the acquisition option expires at the end of 2017), while additional acquisitions in the Italian ceramic district are being considered, with the aim of consolidating highly specialised companies with strong foreign sales. At the present time, the ceramic group is estimated to have a turnover of 75 million euro.
MCP and Italcer have confirmed their intention to build a new factory for the production of ceramic panels in the Tennessee (USA) ceramic district by the end of 2018.
