2024 marked the third-best year in Wienerberger’s history. Despite a challenging market environment, particularly in the construction sector, the Austrian group achieved total revenues of €4.5 billion (+6%) and maintained robust margins. Capacity adjustments, restructuring measures and disciplined cost management contributed to a profit of €100 million, ensuring a consolidated EBITDA margin of approximately 17% (€760 million).

A strong focus on working capital management and inventory optimisation also enabled Wienerberger to generate free cash flow of around €420 million (+62%).

Looking at key markets, sales in Western Europe saw growth, with revenues reaching €2.5 billion (up from €2.2 billion in 2023), while Eastern Europe remained stable at €1.2 billion. In North America, sales declined to €799 million (from €838 million in 2023), with EBITDA falling to €191 million (€213 million in 2023). However, Wienerberger continued to strengthen its presence in the region through acquisitions, including Ludowici, a roof tile specialist, and Summitville Tiles, a manufacturer of façade systems.

Innovation and sustainability remain the central pillars of Wienerberger’s long-term growth strategy. The company already generates 33% of its revenue from innovative products and aims to increase this share to 35% by 2026.

In short, the main benefits of Quantum Carbide include energy savings due to reduced wear and greater process stability, lower expenditure on spare parts thanks to the material’s long lifespan, consistently high-quality finished products (as the extruded products maintain their weight and properties over time) and stable, reliable performance without deformation even after prolonged use.
