Multigecko proves a success in Italy
The Multigecko two-row sorting machine and the Griffon palletiser with 5-axis gripper for medium and large sizes are the new end-of-line systems designed by System Ceramics to work alongside the highly successful 4Phases packaging machine.
Although officially presented at Tecnargilla, the two systems had in fact already been adopted during previous months by numerous Italian ceramic companies including ABK, Casalgrande Padana, Coem, Emilcermica, Florim, Gresmalt Group, Marazzi, Panaria, Polis, Sant'Agostino, Tagina and Valsecchia.
The most highly appreciated qualities of the new sorting machine are efficiency and low production costs, as well as the reduced maintenance costs.
With these new features, System has chosen to design customised and increasingly flexible sorting department layouts.
Multigecko is an extremely quiet machine capable of sorting all types of ceramic tiles, even those with textured surfaces, and dividing them up according to their quality class. It occupies just a few square metres and uses simple but highly advanced software.
The Griffon palletiser adjusts its gripping force according to the weight that needs to be handled (up to 250 kg) and - in a procedure reminiscent of a Tetris videogame - stacks boxes on the pallet in such a way as to make optimum use of space.
