New CEO at Niro Ceramic
Ian Kok was appointed CEO of Niro Ceramic (Malaysia) on 1 February. He takes over from Bong Kuan Shin, who remains on the board as executive vice-chairman.
Niro Ceramic, one of Malaysia’s largest ceramic tile producers, has announced a change in its management. As of 1 February, the group has appointed Ian Kok to take over as CEO from Bong Kuan Shin, who has now retired.
Ian Kok joined Niro Ceramic in 2005 and has served as COO and Executive Director. Throughout his 15 years of service, he has been involved in many areas of the group’s operations, including manufacturing, logistics and sales, as well as overseeing operations in Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines and Spain.
Announcing the new appointment, the group’s board of directors thanked Bong Kuan Shin for his many years of service at the helm of the Niro Ceramic Group and for establishing the brand as one of the leaders in the industry. Under his leadership and vision, Niro has grown considerably both in Malaysia and abroad. It has branches and operations in seven countries in Asia and Europe and exports its products to many areas of the world. Bong Kuan Shin will continue to serve as a member of the Board of Directors as Executive Vice-Chairman.
Niro Ceramic Group offers a variety of products, including porcelain and ceramic tiles under the brand names Niro Granite, Zirconio and Portino, glass mosaics, and sanitaryware under the Orin brand.
Since Niro Ceramic Malaysia was founded in 1988, the company has expanded its operations to Indonesia, China, Vietnam, Spain, India and the Philippines, maintaining the high quality of its products and constantly raising the level of services offered to customers.
