New technologies to help Nexe Grupa navigate the green transition

The group recently completed a new technology upgrade, to improve the energy efficiency of its Polet facility in Serbia, with machinery supplied by Bongioanni Macchine.

Nexe Grupa is a highly respected brand in the Balkan region renowned for its high-quality building materials and a comprehensive product portfolio that includes bricks, roof tiles, ceramic tiles and concrete products. The group consists of 14 companies located in Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina with a total workforce of nearly 1,700 employees. Despite the challenging market conditions, Nexe Grupa reported 3% year-on-year sales growth in 2023.

The group is well known for its forward-thinking investment strategy and recently completed a new technology upgrade at its Polet facility in Novi Bečej, Serbia, with machinery supplied by its long-trusted partner Bongioanni Macchine. For years, Nexe Grupa has been focusing on projects relating to the green, energy and digital transition with the aim of reducing its carbon footprint, improving energy efficiency and increasing the proportion of alternative fuels and raw materials used, thereby contributing to the sustainable management of resources. The group, infact, is planning additional upgrades aimed at enhancing the efficiency of its factories and increasing the use of renewable energy in its brick and tile manufacturing operations.

We interviewed Davor Vidaković, executive director of the brick and ceramic tile division, to find out more about Nexe Grupa’s projects.
