Officine Smac looks to an ever greener future

The company has installed a photovoltaic system capable of meeting up to 100% of the energy needs of its Fiorano Modenese site.

Fiorano Modenese-based company Officine Smac has confirmed environmental sustainability as a cornerstone of its corporate strategy by installing and commissioning an innovative photovoltaic system for electricity generation in early 2023.

The system is managed by latest-generation software and can be controlled entirely remotely. It is designed to meet up to 100% of the company’s electricity requirements and has avoided 32 tonnes of CO2 emissions in its first six months of operation.

This latest investment is part of a corporate strategy that has always been strongly focused on health and safety and reducing the company’s environmental footprint. This has led to the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and increasingly digitalised manufacturing processes to ensure both a more responsible use of natural and energy resources and the prevention of accidents and injuries.
