Pamesa and Sugranes upgrade their plants

04/02/05 - Pamesa and Sugranes, two important Spanish ceramic companies, recently awarded two major contracts to the Italian Barbieri & Tarozzi Group.

Pamesa, a leading ceramic group with investments additionally in Brazil, will be supplied with a body preparation plant equipped with latest-generation batching systems. The plant will initially have an output of 9,500 sq.m/day of single-fired tiles in 330x330 mm and 450x450 mm sizes and will comprise two BM 38000 discontinuous mills and a spray dryer with 18,000 litre capacity. The supply contract will also include a 93 metre glazing line and a complete storage line for unfired product to feed the kiln.

Also in Spain, the new plant supplied by Barbieri & Tarozzi to Sugranes is currently starting up production. This new line is capable of producing extruded products in 330x310x40 mm, 330x330x50 mm and 120x240x9 mm sizes with a daily production of 650 sq.m.
Significantly, with this plant Sugranes will be able to produce large-thickness trim pieces, particularly steps and special tiles for swimming pools.
The supply contract includes the installation of a new single-layer kiln of length 53.28 metres served by a complete line of latest-generation storage machines for box and kiln loading and unloading.
