Puro Marazzi Antibacterial The Top at the Milan Design Week
At the Milan Design Week 2022, Marazzi presented its first collection of antibacterial slabs for tables and kitchen countertops capable of eliminating up to 99.9% of bacteria and microbes from surfaces.
Marazzi, an international leader in the design and production of ceramic tiles, chose the Milan Design Week 2022 as the venue for the launch of its first collection of antibacterial slabs for tables and kitchen countertops. Puro Marazzi Antibacterial The Top is a unique project that involves the application of the exclusive Puro Marazzi Antibacterial technology to large porcelain slabs in a 162x324 cm size and 12 mm thickness. The special silver ion treatment, incorporated in the production process prior to firing at 1200°C, eliminates up to 99.9% of bacteria and microbes from surfaces and creates a permanently active protection.
The company chose three locations to showcase the aesthetic and design features of its new collection: its stand at Eurocucina, the Marazzi showroom in Via Borgogna, and the space in Palazzo Bovara curated by Calvi Brambilla for Elle Decor’s Design Forever project devoted to design trends.
“This project fits in perfectly with our development path by enhancing the aesthetic and technological content of our collection of large slabs,” explained Marazzi Group’s CEO Mauro Vandini. “The Puro Marazzi Antibacterial technology, applied for the first time to kitchen countertops, is a highly attractive and functional innovation that further improves the safety of porcelain stoneware.”
The collection consists of six concrete, marble and stone effect versions: Concrete Look White, Marble Look Elegant Black, Golden White and Statuario, Stone Look Ceppo di Gré and the brand new Travertino Classico.
