Rocersa steps up production of large formats
The Spanish ceramic company Rocersa has made a series of new investments in the wake of its decision to step up production of large format tiles. This led to the purchase of a new PH 7500 press, the latest addition to Sacmi’s “Imola” range which ensures uniform distribution of pressing forces even with the largest formats.
The Vila-Real based company has already made major investments in the last two years, including 44 million euro for the construction of a new production facility in Alcora in which to concentrate all its activities – currently divided between Vila-Real, Nules and Alcora – and a further 6 million euro on building the new management headquarters.
The new facility will occupy a total area of 253,000 square metres, of which 72,000 sq.m will be dedicated to production, 3,000 sq.m to the R&D laboratory, 45,000 sq.m to the dispatch warehouse and 11,000 sq.m to the management centre which, according to General Manager José Miguel, will start bearing fruit at the beginning of next year. The remaining 170,000 square metres will accommodate a logistics centre to be developed in a second phase.
Rocersa, which employs 410 people and generated turnover in 2006 of over 60 million euro, currently has production capacity in excess of 30,000 sq.m per day and distributes its products in 100 countries worldwide.
