Sacmi Imola receives Acimac Quality Mark certification

10/10/05 - Sacmi Imola, the world-leading manufacturer of plant and machinery for the ceramic industry, has received the Acimac Quality Mark, the product mark promoted by Acimac (Italian ceramic plant and machinery manufacturers’ association) that certifies the quality and reliability of machinery and technologies.
The 2000 Series and Power Series presses passed the stringent tests of TÜV Italia, the international certification body chosen by Acimac to assure the maximum professionalism and meticulousness in granting the mark, and were found to be compliant with the reference technical specification “Ceramic Machinery – Product Standard 2000 ST A/QM-01 ST 02”.

In accordance with the requirements of the mark, the presses manufactured by the Imola-based group not only meet stringent technical requirements but also offer a warranty extended to at least 18 months from the delivery date (for structural parts the warranty lasts for five years).
As regards service, the supply of spare parts is assured for at least ten years from the date of the contract along with rapid after-sales support.
To meet this commitment, Sacmi has already started up a range of activities relating to quality assurance through the entire production chain.

The Sacmi Group has also initiated the procedure to obtain certification for the moulds manufactured by Sacmi Molds & Dies, for which the Acimac Quality Mark establishes a three-year warranty on structural parts.

“The quality mark ensures greater transparency in the evaluation of supplies and the company’s product documentation,” commented Pietro Rivola, deputy manager of Sacmi Ceramics&Tiles. “The functional and production technical parameters and the services provided by suppliers are all tested according to homogeneous standards.”

Thanks to the complex system of obligatory periodical verifications, the presses are sure to maintain the certified quality standards over a long timeframe. In accordance with the certification procedure, once an application has been made by an Acimac member company, a verification team consisting of TÜV Italia inspectors and industry experts is set up to carry out the preliminary checks, which include an audit lasting several days on the company premises. It then draws up a technical report.
On the basis of this report and following a further preliminary evaluation of the company reference documentation, the Mark Committee decides whether or not to grant the mark.
