Sacmi proposes acquisition of Nuova Fima
In mid September, Sacmi expressed interest in the acquisition of a company branch of the Nuova Fima group, placed in liquidation last April by the Dutch investment fund Favonius Ventures Holding, the major shareholder since 2005.
“Nuova Fima occupies a similar but complementary segment to our own. Synergies are important at this time: such a wealth of experience and tradition must not be lost,” affirmed Sacmi’s managing director Pietro Cassani. The agreement, which technically involves leasing a company branch with the obligation to purchase, aims to maintain the production of Nuova Fima, a leading manufacturer in the end-of-line segment and automatic inspection systems, and will result in the re-employment of 60 of the 125 laid-off workers.
