Sacmi: technological partnership with Serenissima
Sacmi Imola recently signed a major supply contract with Serenissima Cir Industrie Ceramiche, a historic manufacturer and seller of ceramic floor and wall coverings.
The partnership between the two companies is a major initiative of technological innovation and upgrading of several of Serenissima’s largest production facilities.
Specifically, the supply contract relates to two new roller kilns and two state-of-the-art DWD (Digital Wet Decoration) machines, belonging to the innovative range previewed by Sacmi at the latest edition of Tecnargilla.
A first roller kiln, specifically designed for artisan production, will be installed at the Olbia plant of Cerasarda, a company specialising in the production of top-end and luxury ceramics, tableware and furnishing complements. Cerasarda, which recently opened its new plant in the industrial district of Olbia, will thus have a highly flexible machine, capable of dealing with frequent switch-on/switch-off cycles.
The roller kiln (model FMS 2230 measuring 120 metres in length) will be installed at Ceramica Cercom’s Filo d’Argenta plant in the province of Ferrara, which produces through-body porcelain tile. Equipped with a full complement of XTR energy-saving systems, the kiln will enable Cercom to increase its production while leaving its fixed energy costs practically unchanged.
Lastly, one of the parent company’s plants situated in the ceramic district of Reggio Emilia will be fitted out with a new PH 5000 press for large formats and a DWD digital wet decoration machine.
