Setec supplies technology to Jacob Delafon Maroc
Jacob Delafon Maroc, a Moroccan company owned by the Kohler France group, has purchased from Setec two BSO type casting benches with dryer for casting fine fireclay shower trays, sinks and console washbasins and a turnkey plant for the production of moulds to be installed at its factory in Tangiers.
The casting plant was entirely redesigned according to the technical requirements of Jacob Delafon Maroc. This involved adapting the machine to the dimensions/weights of the moulds and developing the dryer according to the principles of airflows and evaporative efficiency to allow for rapid mould drying (around 2 hours) and thus permit the third daily casting. Last but not least, the software and electronics were redesigned to optimise working times.
The mould production plant is fully automatic and managed by a central unit equipped with supervision system from which it is possible to monitor all material flows. All the tanks feature ultrasound level sensors that indicate the quantity of slip contained, while the plaster-water mixture preparation unit consists of a system for silo storage of plaster powder and an automatic batching unit.
The entire plant is equipped with dust extraction hoods and bag filters.
The plant is due to start up in June 2009.
