Sika acquires Technokolla
The 100% acquisition of Sassuolo, Italy-based hi-tech adhesives manufacturer Technokolla by Sika AG, a Swiss multinational which produces and sells chemical building products, was finalised on 19 July this year. This operation, carried through by the Fincea group which owns Technokolla and Iris Ceramica, will allow both companies to establish strong synergies and intensify their distribution networks while offering the Italian and European building industry a wide range of products and technologies.
“Following the recent industrial merger between the GranitiFiandre Group and the Iris Ceramica Group, this latest operation will allow us to concentrate on our core business and in particular on the major investments made in Italy and abroad,” commented Graziano Verdi, Chairman and Managing Director of the Fiandre Group and Iris Ceramica. First-half figures indicate more than 20% growth for the American subsidiary StonePeak Ceramic and 10% for German subsidiary Porcelaingres, as well as growth of the Italian brands Fiandre and Iris.
Technokolla exports to more than 30 countries and reported a 2010 turnover of around 30 million euro.
Sika AG sells its products in 74 countries and has a turnover in excess of 3.8 billion euro and 13,500 employees.
