SITI B&T Group strengthens its presence in Asia
SITI B&T Group is strengthening its presence in Asia with the start-up of a new facility in Gaoming, province of Guangdong (Foshan district), officially opened during the exhibition Ceramics China (27-30 May 2016).
All the manufacturing, commercial and service operations currently performed at the Foshan site will be transferred to the new facility, which will become fully operational in June this year. Construction of the plant has involved a 6.8 million dollar investment, one of the largest Italian investments ever made in China.
With this investment, SITI B&T Group aims to strengthen its production, commercial and service presence in the Asian market with a view to further developing its business in the strategic Asia-Pacific region.
With a built space of 8,000 sq.m, double that of the previous site, the new facility in Gaoming will rationalise production operations and bring a significant increase in production capacity. The facility is eco-friendly and operates in full compliance with environmental regulations. An adjacent area is available for future expansion.
In China, the Italian group will produce single and twin channel kilns for tiles and sanitaryware, high-efficiency burners, horizontal dryers, spray dryers of all sizes, grinding plants and automation, all of which will be sold in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East markets. Thanks to SITI B&T’s Italian expertise and quality control, the facility’s entire output will achieve excellent levels of performance and energy savings at competitive costs for the Asian market.
The new facility will have a research centre equipped with a laboratory for developing energy-saving technologies tailored to the Asian market. It will also have a digital R&D laboratory capable of performing tests and developing specific solutions for the local market.
The Gaoming site will also allow for shorter product delivery times, a better organised customer service and rapid introduction of the Group’s latest Italian technological innovations.
As for logistics, Gaoming is well connected to the motorway network, while the proximity to the port facilitates sea transport.
The facility will employ more than 100 people in the offices and on the production floor.
