SITI-B&T Group to supply latest-generation plant to Ceramiche Piemme
SITI-B&T Group and Industrie Ceramiche Piemme have sealed 50 years of activity with the signing of a major contract whereby SITI-B&T will supply latest-generation technology to modernise Piemme’s Solignano facility. The contract was signed on 6 May by the two companies’ longstanding chairmen, Fausto Tarozzi for Siti-B&T and Francesco Zironi for Piemme, in the presence of other management representatives. The project will run for the two-year period 2011-2013 and will offer excellent opportunities for creating jobs.
The supply package consists of 2 single-channel roller kilns with feeding channel of width 2850 mm and each of length 97.68 m equipped with modern heat recovery systems to reduce gas consumption, 4 latest-generation EVO series hydraulic presses (two 6600 ton and two 5000 ton with free clearance between columns of 2450 mm), 4 five-channel horizontal dryers of width 3000 mm and length 14.15 m, a handling system comprising 15 LGV laser-guided vehicles and a storage plant consisting of 270 roller boxes and platforms with 17 new-generation storage machines.
The plant is designed for the production of glazed porcelain tile with coloured body in sizes ranging from 300x300 mm to 900x1200 mm. The contract also includes a UNICO data collection system tailored to the specific requirements of Ceramiche Piemme.
