Smac receives new orders for Kryo
The Kryo system from Officine Smac, designed to solve issues caused by high temperatures and vapour emissions during digital printing, is now being adopted in Bulgaria. Three Kryo F.90 machines will shortly be installed at the manufacturing facility of Khan Asparuh AD owned by Kai Group (Mohawk Group), the country’s largest ceramic tile manufacturer with a production capacity of around 20 million sq.m/year.
Another company to adopt this technology recently was Italian manufacturer Polis Ceramiche, which installed it on the new digital decoration line at its factory in Bondeno di Gonzaga (MN) at the end of 2015. Using Kryo, the tiles are decorated at a temperature of around 42°-45°C in the absence of vapour, which minimises machine stoppages for printhead cleaning and guarantees higher quality printing. Polis Ceramiche has been a well known brand in the international ceramic industry for more than 40 years and has a production capacity in excess of 6,000,000 sq.m/year.
