StonePeak Ceramics opened

15/06/05 - The ultra-modern factory of StonePeak Ceramics, the company belonging to the Italian group Graniti Fiandre of Castellarano (province of Reggio Emilia), was opened on 11 June in Crossville, Tennessee.

Chairwoman Cristina Minozzi cut the ribbon in the company of Graniti Fiandre Chairman Graziano Verdi at a ceremony attended by hundreds of guests including local authorities, suppliers, customers and community representatives.

StonePeak Ceramics, which has its headquarters and showroom in Chicago, will produce high-end glazed and through-bodied porcelain tile exclusively for the American market.

An investment of more than USD 50 million has created one of the most technologically advanced factories in the world.
The production unit is located on a site extending over more than 58,000 square metres and comprises eight production lines.
The total workforce is expected to amount to 150 employees, several of whom have already been taken on and trained at the Tennessee Technology Center and at the Graniti Fiandre headquarters in Castellarano.

Production began in early May, allowing the first four collections (Limestone, Marble, Terrazzo and New Basics) to make their debut at Coverings 2005. Another four series are due to be launched this summer.
