Surfaces Lab opens facility in Spain
A second Surfaces Lab has been opened in Onda (Castellón). Like the Italian facility, it allows companies to experiment with the latest innovations in the field of surface finishing and treatment.
With the aim of meeting growing demand from the Spanish ceramic industry, Surfaces Group has set up a new Surfaces Lab at Onda in the Castellón ceramic district.
The Italian group, a key player in the surface finishing and treatments sector, is aiming to repeat in Spain the success it achieved with the first Surfaces Lab opened in 2014 in Formigine, in the heart of the Italian ceramic manufacturing district.
The facility in Onda is likewise equipped with cutting-edge machinery, including a polishing machine for sizes up to 1600x3200 mm, to allow ceramic companies to develop customised surfaces and experiment with protective treatments and new finishes (from glossy semi-polishing to satin effects) without occupying their own production lines and with the consulting and expertise of Surfaces Group.
Surfaces Lab gives ceramic companies the opportunity to perform semi-industrial tests so as to reduce the timeframes and costs associated with new production processes, and to produce small quantities of finished prototypes by experimenting with innovative solutions in a constantly-evolving sector.
