Surfaces Technological Abrasives takes over A.S. Tools

The acquisition of A.S. Tools, an established manufacturer of tools for the application of protective coatings to honed or polished tiles, by Surfaces Technological Abrasives, a world leader in the field of abrasives for honing/polishing, was completed in June this year.

By integrating these two complementary activities, the acquisition aims to strengthen the presence of A.S. Tools in the domestic and international marketplace by increasing the continuity of new product development and improving service quality.

The A.S. Tools production plant and warehouse have already been moved from Fiorano to Corlo di Formigine where Surfaces has its site in the Sassuolo ceramic district. The facility is due to be expanded with the addition of a new warehouse and a large showroom.

Research into coating tools will integrate perfectly with Surfaces Lab, the exclusive pilot plant for experimentation and development of innovative new solutions in collaboration with ceramic companies and research laboratories. It has recently been expanded with the installation of an additional processing line.
