Takceram focuses on international markets
Since it was founded in 1995, Takceram has been a pioneer in porcelain tile production in Iran.
Today, the Isfahan facility has a production capacity of 3 million m2/year and currently produces porcelain floor and wall tiles in glazed and unglazed, polished and unpolished versions, as well as frost- and acid-resistant technical materials for exteriors, with sizes up to 60x120 cm.
Largely due to the crisis that has hit the Iranian ceramic industry, in the last three years the company has concentrated on product innovation rather than raising production capacity, explains Amin Hemmati, managing director and member of the board of directors, as well as the major shareholder of Takceram. "Our next goal must be to boost exports," he told us. "In the last two years we have exported 24% of our output, although we aim to reach 40% in the near future and enter new geographical areas such as South Africa, Europe and the United States. These are more stable but at the same time more demanding markets where we can offer high quality standards at competitive prices. We are also working to establish partnerships and supply agreements with foreign companies".
Takceram is now planning new investments at the Isfahan facility, with the aim to increase efficiency and to lower production costs: these will be therefore focused on automation and energy saving.
