Tecnargilla 2004, more than 30,000 visitors

07/10/04 - This year’s Tecnargilla in Rimini has been a very successful edition.
The 19th edition of the most important exhibition of technologies and suppliers for the ceramic and heavy clay industries has registered a 1.8% increase in numbers of visitors. Attendance by both Italian visitors (19,277, 1.5% up on 2002) and foreign visitors (10,964, +2.5%) increased to reach a total of more than 30,000 visitors.

A particularly important factor was the large increase in the number of countries of origin of foreign visitors, up from 84 in 2002 to 109 this year. The best represented countries were Spain, Turkey, Iran, China, Germany, Brazil, Russia, Portugal, Thailand, Poland, Egypt, India, France, Argentina and Mexico.

The most positive aspect of the exhibition was the great satisfaction on the part of the exhibitors, who received a larger number of visits from potential new customers and were particularly impressed by the professionalism and quality of the visitors, including all the largest Italian and foreign producers.

The exhibitors noted a high degree of interest in the technological innovations showcased, a factor that reinforces the new-found optimism with which the sector’s entrepreneurs are looking to the future. Following a three-year fall in turnover, the Italian ceramic machinery industry expects to end the negative trend in 2004 with a total turnover of about 1,405 million euro, slightly up on 2003 (+0.2%), while maintaining its export share worldwide at 70% of total turnover.

The next Tecnargilla (the 20th edition) has been confirmed for 2006.
