Transition 5.0: Bongioanni increases the pace of innovation

Bongioanni has expanded its machine fleet to increase productivity, flexibility and competitiveness in advanced mechanical machining.

Bongioanni, a leading manufacturer of machinery for the brick and tile industry, has expanded its machine fleet with the addition of a Mazak Variaxis i-700 5-axis simultaneous vertical machining centre and three new electrical discharge machines.

The investment, which included funding from the Italian Ministry of Economic Development’s Transition 5.0 Plan, marks a significant step forward in the company’s process of adopting cutting-edge technologies and boosting production efficiency.

Designed for machining complex components made of hardened steels and special alloys as well as three-dimensional surfaces, the Mazak machining centre features a high-speed spindle and rotary/tilting table that reduce setup times and ensure maximum precision in a single clamping. This is a strategic investment for increasing productivity, flexibility and competitiveness in advanced mechanical machining. The new electrical discharge machines cut conductive materials with micrometric tolerances, achieving high-quality finishes with zero thermal distortion and greater versatility in precision machining. This new equipment enables Bongioanni to monitor performance in real time, quickly identify potential issues and optimise production. This results in improved product quality and shorter delivery times, further strengthening the company’s market position and customer confidence.
