Unicera broadens its international appeal

Preparations are under way for the 24th Turkish ceramic and bathroom furnishing exhibition Unicera, to be held in Istanbul from 14 to 18 March 2012. Organised by Tüyap Fair and Exhibition Organization in cooperation with the Turkish Ceramics Federation and Timder, the event will be held in a 173,000 square metre floor space in the Tüyap Fair and Congress Center. In order to attract a broader range of users and cater for the many needs of visitors, for the first time in 2012 Unicera will be organised in conjunction with two other events: Kitchen World 2012 (in cooperation with Muder Association of Producers and Importers of Hardwood Kitchen and Bathroom Furniture) and the second furnishing and lighting exhibition Dekoreks Istanbul. The decision to host the two shows concurrently with Unicera reflects a desire to create a more comprehensive and appealing showcase for architects, interior designers, decorators, builders and real estate companies.
Another of Unicera’s aims is to serve as a single location bringing together business interests from the Balkans, the Black Sea, the Caspian Sea, the Middle East and North Africa – regions with a total population of 1.5 billion where the Turkish ceramic industry has strong exports and socioeconomic ties.

Following an effective advertising campaign, the organisers are expecting a further boost in attendance with respect to 2011, when 60,841 visitors (including 3,530 international visitors from 72 different countries) converged on the show, confirming its high international profile. Given the Turkish ceramic industry’s current strong performance, the event is expected to exceed last year’s figures by 15% and to consolidate its position as the country’s leading international trade fair, as demonstrated by the first confirmed bookings from exhibitors from South Korea and Ukraine.
