Villeroy & Boch adopts a further two Sacmi-Gaiotto robots at its Mettlach facility

Flexibility and process efficiency remain the drivers of the technological investments of Villeroy & Boch, a historic German ceramic group and one of the most prestigious international brands in the tableware, sanitaryware and tile segments.

A further two Gaiotto robots for sanitaryware preparation and glazing by means of automatic spraying were recently started up at the Mettlach facility, joining the seven units already in operation.

The project was divided into two stages: a first GA 2000 robot installed on the new sorting line for spraying a solvent-based product with a sanitising and anti-scale function onto fired pieces; the second GA 2000 robot is used for glazing pieces using innovative technology.

The two robots were successfully tested and started up and are equipped with the latest hardware and software, including direct joystick control and advanced spraying programmes which can be customised according to specific production requirements.
