Villeroy & Boch announces major developments in North America
In January 2018, Villeroy & Boch will be opening up a new chapter in its North American sales and distribution strategy. The historic German group, the leading European brand in the bathroom and sanitaryware segment, will cease distribution through TOTO and begin direct sales, distribution, customer service and after-sales support for all its products. Its headquarters will be in Monroe Township, New Jersey.
Constantin von Boch, Vice President Sales & Marketing, Villeroy & Boch USA, explained that the strategic shift aims to provide a focused and deeper level of service for the group’s distribution partners and a more integrated supply chain to meet local customer demands more efficiently. This has been achieved through the strategic expansion of the local market sales team and a network of highly qualified rep agencies across North America.
The initial operations will include increasing local distribution centre inventory levels in all key product categories (toilets, decorative lavatories and washbasins, tubs, vanities and bathroom furniture, etc.). At the same time it will expand business operations for the architectural design and development community as well as developing new products and applications for hotels and luxury housing.
The strong focus on growth in North America will also be supported by large-scale investments (around US $20 million) for technological upgrading of the factory in Ramos, Mexico.
