VitrA tiles made in Ireland
The new plant, located in the city of Arklow, will allow VitrA Ireland to increase its production capacity to 1.75 million sq.m/year compared to the current 1.1 million sq.m/year. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Eczacibasi Group’s CEO Erdal Karamercan explained that the new plant is expected to raise the VitrA Ceramic Tiles group’s overall output to 22 million sq.m/year, corresponding to an estimated turnover of USD 25 million in 2005.
The VitrA Group, which already has two plants in Turkey and Ireland, also has plans to establish new facilities in Russia and Turkey which will raise its capacity to 26 million square metres in 2006.
