Younexa presents Krystal Eterna at Cersaie

It is the most advanced and scratch-resistant solution for high-quality polished ceramic materials.

“There is a light” is the concept chosen by Younexa (Altadia Group) for the design of its booth at Cersaie (hall 33, booth E6-G3), where it is showcasing a number of innovative solutions that stand out for their high quality, sustainability and ability to adapt to the specific needs of each manufacturer.

Established a few years ago from Ferro’s ceramics division, Younexa is a company with a youthful spirit backed by over a century of experience and knowledge, a journey of continuous innovation built on meticulous, high-quality processes. Environmental sustainability and customisation are core principles for the Spanish glaze and colour producer, which strives to deliver tailored solutions that cater to many different needs.

In particular, Younexa is presenting three categories of grits - Krystal, Dimension and Korium - each made up of a specific range of materials with different properties and technical specifications that allow for unique results.

Krystal Eterna

The real highlight of the Younexa booth is Krystal Eterna, the most advanced and innovative addition to the Krystal family ideal for polished ceramic surfaces that require superior scratch resistance. Krystal Eterna offers exceptional durability, resilience and strength, making it ideal for high-performance applications. It is compatible with a wide range of glazes and grits while maintaining key properties such as transparency and porosity, and also enhances both the aesthetic appeal and functionality of ceramic products.

Its many advantages include exceptional mechanical stability, which makes it a perfect choice for the production of tiles for high-traffic areas, as well as improved hardness which makes the surfaces more resistant to mechanical damage.

This means that Krystal Eterna is a reliable, high quality solution that allows for the production of higher value-added materials and is particularly suitable for applications where durability and strength are essential.

Tests show that Krystal Eterna is capable of achieving a critical hardness (LC3) of up to 3184 N, compared to 267 N for traditional glazes. This ensures that surfaces treated with Krystal Max retain their integrity and appearance even under high wear conditions.

To more accurately determine the true wear resistance of treated materials, an advanced measurement method has been developed consisting of a scratch tester with a more powerful lens (x20).

Dimension

Another new product presented at Cersaie is Dimension, a digitally applied grit that can create volumes and textures with different bas-relief and depth effects.

Through the use of technologies such as Deeper, Frame and a combination of glue + grit, it achieves results that fulfil every need while taking into account volume, texture and desired effects. Specifically:

  • Frame is applied prior to colour application, allowing for the deposition of a greater quantity of glaze and deeper reliefs;

  • Deeper is applied after glazing, resulting in more subtle and less pronounced reliefs.

As this is an inkjet technology, the relief is maintained over the entire piece and the type of relief can also be changed very rapidly (depending on the machine’s capacity) without having to halt production.

  • Compared to Frame and Deeper, the glue + grit technique allows for the creation of more rustic, less detailed reliefs, as the grit adds material to improve the final result.

These three technologies can be combined on the same ceramic piece, resulting in an end product with different finishes and effects.

Finally, Younexa is presenting Korium, a product developed for both indoor and outdoor ceramic surfaces that stands out for its exceptional versatility, as it can be used to create modern, aged or natural finishes.
