At Tecnargilla 2012, Martinelli is presenting Kaliber®, the first line of floating single-calibre moulds in the lower section, and HQ-S® liners for SSS moulds.
The Kaliber-S® version for SSS mould for pressing tiles with the fair face up allows a single calibre to be obtained from all mould cavities during pressing thanks to the introduction of a hydraulic circuit in the lower section.
This technology is not only easier and quicker to set up than the upper section version, it is also more durable because it is subject to less stress and is suitable for use with various types of universal bases.
The range is rounded off by Kaliber-E®, the version for entering die-set moulds, which consists of an upper plate with floating magnetic punch holders, designed according to the same principles as its sister product Kaliber-S®.
Both systems are ideal for multi-row moulds and allow the connection between isostatic punches to be eliminated.
Thanks to this characteristic, Kaliber-S® and Kaliber-E® can be installed even on single-cavity moulds for large sizes, eliminating expensive isostatic punches and returning to the rigid punch.
Martinelli is also able to provide HQ-S liners for SSS moulds.
In spite of their fragility, HQ liners can be used successfully with entering die-set moulds because they are adequately protected by the die-box. In the SSS moulds, the lower and upper liners operate almost in contact and their upper section emerges from the edge of the die-box. For this reason, special profiles had to be adopted to prevent detachment of the liners and suitable supports had to be added to guarantee protection in case of accidental impacts.
Combined with the characteristics of the SSS moulds, these new liners guarantee consistent product quality and a lifetime that would be unimaginable with conventional liners.
