New version of Picasso presented at Cevisama

01/03/04 - 01/03/04 – The new version of Picasso, a new integrated single-loading system (press and carriage) that revitalises the concept of porcelain tile press decoration, will be unveiled during Cevisama.
An exhibition of the first products manufactured using this technology has been set up at the Welko stand, which features a floor covering made of the same innovative material.

Developed as a joint venture between Tecnografica Sistemi and Welko, Picasso is able to perform all dry decorative applications required for finishing the product outside the press and then transfer the finished soft tile into the mould without damaging the graphic design.

This new technology is able to recreate on the surface of the tile the wealth of patterns and colours typical of a wide range of natural stones, from rustic stone to glossy marble.
As a result, the finished product has an extremely natural appearance and a wide variety of tones and colours. This is achieved through powder co-penetration procedures that reproduce the stratification processes of natural stone formation.
The digitalised decorative applications, which use glazes and spray-dried powders, flakes and agglomerates of various kinds, are programmable at each loading cycle to allow for the maximum product differentiation at the press exit.

Picasso is a flexible and compact system that guarantees cost savings and low environmental impact.

The new Picasso integrated press glazing system is produced by the Welko Group of Spino D’Adda, while technological support for the development of new product types is provided by Tecnografica Sistemi Welko.

As part of the partnership, an advanced laboratory for the development and experimentation of innovative projects for the ceramic industry has been set up at Spino D’Adda.
