Simec calibration system

Simec calibration system13/2/2003 - Simec, a Treviso, Italy-based company specialising in equipment for machining natural stone, porcelain tile and glass ceramic, has developed a new calibration system that uses cylindrical heads with two C2 and/or C3 type diamond tools (pictured). The system is able to perfectly calibrate all sizes from widths of 200 mm to 600 mm or more without it being necessary to change diamond tools with different product dimensions.
Thanks to the way in which the diamond tool works the material and the peripheral machining speed (perfectly suited to the needs of the diamond), the new Simec system considerably reduces breakages and the need to re-machine the material. Last but not least, the diamond tool operating method avoids the longitudinal ribbing typical of traditional calibration systems, instead producing a finely machined surface that greatly facilitates the subsequent smoothing and polishing operations.
