44th Expoanicer to be held in Porto Alegre in September

Porto Alegre, capital of the State of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil, will be the venue for the 44th Encontro Nacional da Indústria de Cerâmica Vermelha (National Meeting of the Heavy Clay Industry), the sector's leading event in Latin America and one of the largest in the world.

Organised by Anicer, the Brazilian brick and tile manufacturers' association, the event will be held from 16th to 19th September in parallel with the 18th edition of Expoanicer, the international exhibition of machinery, equipment and supplies for the heavy clay industry. 

Some 600 brick and tile producers operate in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, mainly but not exclusively in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre. The industry employs more than 25,000 people and produces about 64 million pieces a month, consisting of roof tiles, bricks, blocks, ceiling tiles and other types of products.
