Altadia goes shopping in India
The Spanish group has acquired Nahar Colours & Coating Pvt. Ltd, India’s largest producer of frits.
Altadia, the world-leading Spanish multinational operating in the field of glazes, frits, colours and digital inks, has taken a new step forward in its international growth strategy.
The group, which includes sector leaders such as Esmalglass-Itaca, Fritta, Vetriceramici, SPC, Younexa, Quimicer, Oximet, Zircosil, Endeka and Gardenia, announced in late September its acquisition of Nahar Colours & Coating Private Limited, India’s largest frit producer. Headquartered in Udaipur, Rajasthan, Nahar operates three production plants in Gujarat and reports a turnover of nearly €60 million.
This acquisition enables Altadia to strengthen its presence not only in India, but also in the UAE and Bangladesh where Nahar Colours exports its products.
Nahar’s integration into the Altadia group brings an additional 200 employees to Altadia’s workforce of 3,500 across 51 factories in 19 countries worldwide.
Altadia’s management welcomed Nahar’s executives and employees, noting that their collaborative efforts would focus on enhancing customer service excellence and pursuing further growth.
