Appel posts strong 2019 results
Underpinning these results were a major contract in Asia, R&D investments and expansion of the sales and technical organisation.
Appel, a producer of quality control equipment and automation for the ceramic end-of-line stage based in Pavullo (Modena), posted healthy turnover growth in 2019 in line with its strong performance in recent years.
This growth was largely driven by a series of major orders, including one from an Asian producer for six sorting and packaging lines complete with a Calibro-Planar system for diagonal dimensional control of flatness and thickness of tiles up to 1800x3600 mm in size.
During the year, Appel expanded its sales and technical organisation with the aim of boosting its presence in the main international markets and improving after-sales service.
It also made significant R&D investments with a view to developing innovative solutions including new equipment for quality control following ceramic surface rectification in addition to normal dimensional checks.
In 2020, Appel is planning to open a new office building and a new production facility and warehouse next to the existing site.
