B&T White opens new production department
B&T White's new production department for sanitaryware resin moulds was officially opened on 5 April. Held in B&T Group's Technology Centre in Via Quattro Passi in Formigine, the event saw the participation of Franco Richeldi, Mayor of Formigine, Giancarlo Muzzarelli, Production Activities Officer for the Emilia-Romagna regional government, the local and specialist press and numerous representatives of the institutions and banking sector.
The company management was represented by Fabio Tarozzi (Managing Director of SITI-B&T Group) and the group's two founders, Fausto Tarozzi (Group Chairman) and Emer Barbieri. Fabio Tarozzi emphasised the Group's strategic choice of investing continuously in Research & Development. "Over the last 13 years we have reinvested 2.5-3% of our consolidated turnover each year, concentrating on three main areas: new product research, growth in foreign markets and the technical and sales service network. The new sanitaryware resin mould production department was the last missing link that our Group needed to complete its sanitaryware production line. Besides confirming our commitment to research, the investment underscores the importance we assign to the Sassuolo ceramic cluster and to the professionalism, expertise and excellence present both within our company and in the local area in general, which for this reason is a world leader in innovative, high-quality technologies."
In his welcome address, Paolo Gambuli, Director of the Italian ceramic machinery and equipment manufacturers' association Acimac, pointed out that this latest investment by Siti B&T Group is particularly courageous given the difficult economic situation and the fact that the greatest growth potential in the sanitaryware market is well outside Italy's borders. But precisely because it is courageous, it confirms the business culture of a Group that after 50 years of activity maintains the same drive and commitment as ever, looking to the future with a firm belief in its abilities, he said.
Next to speak was Eugenio Ferragina, Managing Director of B&T White, who presented the new department during a guided tour of the Technology Centre held prior to the official ribbon-cutting ceremony. "The production department for high-pressure casting resin moulds is equipped with all the latest technology for the optimal production of resin moulds with dedicated perpendicular drainage," he explained. "It will produce an original proprietary resin with a medium porosity compared to the micro-macro porous resins currently available on the market, combining the advantages of both types."
B&T White was set up about a year ago with the aim of developing, producing and selling machinery and complete plant for sanitaryware production. One of the division's strategic goals is to offer new and original solutions for the needs of the market, which today prefers lower-cost products and high volumes. With its highly qualified technical staff, including specialists in various group divisions (Siti, Barbieri & Tarozzi and Sir), B&T White has launched new solutions such as: CUBIC and A.C.E., the island for high-pressure casting and finishing of WCs and bidets with complex geometry, which is capable of achieving 15% higher productivity than solutions currently on the market; CIRCLE, a solution protected by three patents for two-part products (washbasins, cisterns, columns) and for simple geometry WCs with a 35% higher output than other solutions; R.A.G., a robotic glazing island which allows non-expert operators to easily modify self-teaching programmes.
