Cerâmica Portobello starts up its 15th Durst Gamma printer
The latest two Durst Gamma digital printers started up in October last year bring to 15 the number of Gamma range printing systems in operation at the facility of Brazil’s largest ceramic tile manufacturer, Cerâmica Portobello.
The partnership between Portobello and Durst began in 2011 and has strengthened steadily over the years. One of the two printers in the latest order is a new Gamma 108 XD 4.0 printer equipped with the exclusive Durst DM (Digital Material) printhead technology, which will be capable of performing extremely high quality effect printing as well as depositing large quantities of material effect ink (more than 100 g/m2). The other is a new Gamma 148 XD for decoration of tiles in 90x90 cm, 100x100 cm and 120x120 cm sizes. The new systems deliver banding-free results and colour stability and will be used both for premium collections and for Pointer brand tiles for the mass market.
Portobello closed 2016 with a turnover of approximately 379 million euros and an output of over 42 million sq.m of tiles.
