Emilceramica, foreign investments and a new vertical warehouse

24/04/03 - Emilceramica, a company based in Fiorano Modenese (MO), is focusing on innovation, production expansion abroad and investments.
At the end of January, a project was presented for an innovative vertical warehouse which will occupy a covered surface area of 16,000 sq.m between Fiorano and Sassuolo, expandable to a height of 30 metres.
The cost of the new structure is about 20 million euro. It is equipped with a hi-tech integrated logistical system capable of operating automatically around the clock, thereby reducing loading times and guaranteeing flexibility and a punctual service.

At an international level, by the end of July Emilceramica will be starting production at a brand new facility in Muskogee (Oklahoma) as a joint venture with the leading US tile manufacturer DalTile. The Italian company's investment in the project amounts to US $10 million.
The construction of a factory in the Ukraine will cost US $7 million. This operation will likewise be carried out as a joint venture with a local raw materials supplier.

The Fiorano-base Group, led by Sergio Sassi, closed fiscal 2002 with a production of 13 million square metres of tiles and a consolidated turnover of 156 million euro (+7.2%), 60% of which is generated by exports.
