First Sacmi PH8200 press supplied to Romani Group
The very first unit of the brand-new Sacmi PH8200 press has been successfully started up at the factory of Romani Group, a leading ceramic manufacturer based in Casalgrande (RE) which sells its products under the Serenissima, Cir, Cercom and Cerasarda brand names and through the subsidiary Isla.
The latest model in the Imola series (of which 850 machines have been sold since 2006), the new press was developed in accordance with the latest Industry 4.0 principles. Compared to the established PH7500 model, it delivers higher pressing power for the same productivity, allowing for the production of tiles with large thicknesses and sizes. The press is equipped with the CRS (rapid mould change) system, now a standard feature on Sacmi high-tonnage presses.
Another major advantage of the PH8200 is the innovative automation logic. Based on the Ethernet Powerlink protocol, the PH8200 automation program allows for ultra-high communication speeds and therefore more precise and effective control of all machine parameters. These include energy consumption, another key aspect for the Romani Group which has always been attentive to sustainable manufacturing.
Another important feature is that of predictive diagnostics, which uses an advanced sensor system to perform real-time monitoring of vital machine parts and reveal problems and maintenance requirements before they affect normal press operation. The new operator interface also enhances user-friendliness.
