Guide to application of Directive 2006/42/EC

A few days ago, more than a hundred technicians from companies belonging to Federmacchine associations attended the presentation of an important new professional training tool at Acimac's headquarters. This "Guide to application of Directive 2006/42/EC", the new legislation that will take effect from 29 December 2009, aims to provide specialist support in identifying and implementing the changes relative to the current Directive 98/37/EC.

The guide, produced by the technical group of Federmacchine (the Confindustria federation that represents the Italian machinery manufacturers' associations, including Acimac), was discussed in detail at two technical seminars held on 7 and 8 May with identical programmes but different venues. The first meeting was held at the headquarters of Ucimu in Cinisello Balsamo (Milan), the second at Acimac's headquarters in Baggiovara (Modena).

In conjunction with the seminars, the customary update on electrical equipment standards was provided by engineer Federico Dosio, the expert appointed by Federmacchine to monitor European and international electrical standards.
